Dat Privacy Policy

Dat helps users check local DAT and generic data file hints before support, archive, transfer, app setup, or customer sharing.

File access

Dat uses Android's document picker. The app reads a capped local byte sample from the selected file to show data-file handoff hints such as file type, size, SQLite header, ZIP header, GZIP header, text-like clue, binary-like clue, and local note.

No account or upload

Dat does not require an account login and does not upload selected files to an app server.

Limitations

Dat does not edit files, decode proprietary formats, extract hidden records, convert files, repair files, save changes, sync files, write system settings, validate database integrity, validate app compatibility, validate uploads, or guarantee acceptance by any service.

Advertising

Dat uses Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform. Google may process device, ad, and diagnostic data according to its advertising policies.
